DatAnchor

Over the summer of 2019 I was given the opportunity to intern at DAtAnchor, a data security startup in Columbus Ohio. I was given the job to redesign their current website to meet our competitors design techniques. I built the site using launchaco, a website building program, and created the graphics that they used as well. The verbiage was all researched by me as well to match common keywords and sayings that our competitors were using as well.

Even if I didn't hard-code it myself using a text editor, it was still a great experience learning how this process works in a professional environment. Key responsibilities included   SEO research competitors to gain understanding on marketing in the Data Security market,  design interactive web pages for a future update using Launchaco,   and use graphic design programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects to create elements for web pages.

Takeaways

There were many important learning opportunities when working at DatAnchor. Mainly it was learning how to maintain workload in an agile environment. The workload was relatively low, but having these deadlines motivated me to get work done asap. The challenges while working at DatAnchor were mainly trying to pick up the common terminology in the Cybersecurity scene. But like most situations, I learn better while working and picking it up as I go.  I am very grateful for this opportunity and the lessons it has taught me along the way. Below are some work examples from my time there.
