Lucid Salon

Over the summer of 2019 I was contacted by a friend that they need help redesigning their website for the salon they work at. She new of my web design skills and got her boss to approve my first freelance project; redesign Lucid Salon's website. I was first given the task to create an online booking feature for the site, which I used STX to create.

Once that was up and running they wanted their site to fit their current color palette, and remain aesthetically the same to the old site. I went and took images from their Facebook and old website, as well as font styles, and made these first few pages of the website before the plug was pulled. School was coming up for me and the owner of the salon no longer wanted to redo the site (for reasons unknown). I am still proud of what I created in about a couple weeks worth of coding however. This was made using primarily the bootstrap framework but modified to fit my needs for the site.

Sketches

For this project there were many sketches that needed to be done before implementing this to code. I had to confirm with the owner of the salon if she liked the design, and had to run it by the head of accounting as well.

Unfortunate Ending

Midway through the projects duration, the owner of Lucid Salon wanted to have a meeting about the direction of the website's design. This meeting fell through due to complications with the owner. After about a week I heard back from her saying that she wanted to pause development on the project for the time being. Then about another week later the salon ended up closing, which made me sad to hear. The project ended up only getting about halfway done, but I do believe that the work should not be swept under the rug, so below is the "final product".
